Hartzell Engine Technologies - Turbocharger Systems
As the largest manufacturer of general aviation turbocharging systems, Hartzell Engine Technologies supplies all of the major engine OEMs. Originally designed by Honeywell/Garrett and Rajay, Hartzell has invested in engineering development and software tools to create superior, proprietary system designs. While the turbocharger is the heart of a turbocharging system, the full system is comprised of multiple components working together. Each unit is inspected and certified, guaranteeing premium quality and serious boost.
Pressure Relief Valves
Pressure Relief Valves, or overboost valves, act as a supplementary safety device in the aircraft turbocharger system. In systems with a pressure relief valve, the valve is set to open at a pressure slightly above the maximum upper deck pressure, should the controller or wastegate not adequately limit the boost pressure.
